There are two ways to recover a hacked Windows Live Mail account. Steps to Recover Hacked Windows Live Mail Account:

Method 1: When you are able to access your Windows Live Mail account
1.) Log in to your Microsoft Account and open the Security tab.
2.) Under Security, click on the option – Change Password. This will take you to the verification page where you will need to provide your registered phone number or email address to get a code for changing your account’s password.
3.) After selecting the preferred option, click Send Code. Enter the code on the subsequent screen and confirm it. You will be redirected to the change password page.
4.) Enter your Old Password and then your New Password in the provided fields. Also, if you wish you can select the checkbox next to Make me change my password every 72 days.
5.) When done, click Next. Sign out from your account and sign in again using the new password.
Method 2: When you are unable to access your Windows Live Mail account
1.) Go to Microsoft’s Sign-in page and enter your username and click Next. On the next page, click on the Forgot my Password option. You will be taken to the next page.
2.) On this page, you will be asked to select one of the reasons for resetting the password. Select I think someone else is using my Microsoft Account and then choose the appropriate reason from the drop-down list. Click Next.
3.) Fulfill the Captcha requirement and click Next. On the next page, you will get three options like the following:
- Email a**b@**mail.com
- Text ********86
- I don’t have any of these
4.) Select anyone from the first two options; you will receive a code on your phone/email address (depending on the option you select).
5.) Once you received the code, you will be taken to Password Reset Page. Here, enter your new password and confirm it. Now you will be allowed to access your hacked Windows Live Mail account.
Note: In case you select the third option (in step 3) – I don’t have any of these, you will be asked to enter an alternate email address and follow on-screen instructions to recover your account.
